Our most popular engine to date is the nostalgic THERMAL HOPPER 2K.
Each one is handmade, and this one features our special CAGE MOUNT which radial-mounts the engine to a standard Black Widow/Babe Bee mount pattern.
A super-exotic one-off custom, this example features full-coverage color-anodizing in red, blue and yellow.

OK guys, here's the one that started it all for STONEWAY... the original Stoneway THERMAL HOPPER 2K!
The legendary Cox Thermal Hopper was the hottest thing to hit the Half-A market in the fifties.
It just seemed fitting to bring it into the new millennium as our first custom Cox engine!
This prototype (which DOES show some wear and tear from testing...) uses a vintage thin-wall Babe Bee cylinder for "period" appearance.
It has dual boost ports cut in it, and the piston has been lightened and the skirt shortened for super-max sub-piston induction.
It features an original early Cox spinner, and thick-crank boss Black Widow block which was machined at the front to have a little more Thermal Hopper appearance.
The crankshaft has been lightened and the crankpin drilled.
Out back, a Davis Mylar reed opens the door to the massive handmade intake with Dale Kirn fine-thread racing needle, topped off with our red "Crown Jewel" knob.
The prop-driver (now showing wear) is (was) anodized red for a little extra "pop".
This actual engine turned 21,500 rpm on the bench, with a gray Cox 5/3 prop, burning Cox sport fuel!
The product engine head was later replaced with a shaved TeeDee unit, and 25% nitro fuel added, for another 900 rpm.
Later still, we began adding color anodizing and our exclusive cage mount as options.
Several contest flyers are now using our cage mounts (which we make to order) on their original Thermal Hoppers!
Who says a thin-wall Cox cylinder won't scream?

Our BAZOOKA is inspired by the fifties' Thermal Hopper.
It is unique in its traditional, easy to adjust needlevalve setup, and a custom backplate with features the popular Black Widow/Babe Bee mounting pattern.
The BAZOOKA normally has a longer intake.
The one was custom made with an extra-short intake for a tight installation.
If you WANT it, we'll MAKE it!
